FC Fassell has gotten their third league win of the season in the Liberian top flight league.
The Soccer Missionaries defeated Discoveries SA 1-0, with striker Mark Yallah scoring the only goal of the match at the Tusa Sports Pitch.
Fassell is guided by Belgian coach Ivan Minnaert and continues to impress match day after match day in the league.
The club started their league campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Bea Mountain, followed by a 2-1 win over Black Man Warrior before going on to win Discoveries SA.
Fassell seems to be one of the strongest teams in the league since the arrival of the club owner, Cassell Kouh, who was serving a seven-year jail sentence in the United States for his involvement in a $40 million investment fraud scheme.
The club, which was relegated in 2019 after a disastrous season in which they suffered 11 defeats and conceded 48 goals during the league’s first phase, is financially strong and has lots of potential players in their squad.
The club management bolstered their squad with the signing of Moroccan physical trainer Diffaa Hassani Al Adidi, Moroccan midfielder Mustafa Zerzif, and Gambian goalkeeper Ahmed Tejani Savage.
They also signed former Liberian internationals Zah Rahan Krangar, Tonia Tisdell, and Solomon Grimes, who have joined the team, adding experience and depth to the roster.
FC Fassell currently sits atop the Liberian First Division League log with 9 points from three league matches, followed by Heaven Eleven and LPRC Oilers, which sit in second and third place, respectively, with 7 points each from the same number of games.
